Maybe you thought I asked a question about projects willy nilly?
'course you didn't and I definitely didn't ask just for fun.
Projects are an inherent part of my courses as they are a really good chance to do the following:
1️⃣ Have the students use the target language in a relatively natural way.
2️⃣ Have them practice their research skills which are vital for any person nowadays.
3️⃣ As a follow-up from the previous point, allow your students to practice their critical thinking skills (they need to find relevant sources of information, don't they?).
4️⃣ Let them find out some new information and share their newfound knowledge with others.
A lot of benefits, really. Sounds like a dream come true (well, to me). Why doesn't everybody do them then?
I cannot claim to be the leading expert on projects, but I can share how I organize such work. Shall I?

The regulator said it had received information that messages containing stock tips and other investment advice with respect to selected listed companies are being widely circulated through websites and social media platforms such as Telegram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram. Individual messages can be fully encrypted. But the user has to turn on that function. It's not automatic, as it is on Signal and WhatsApp. The next bit isn’t clear, but Durov reportedly claimed that his resignation, dated March 21st, was an April Fools’ prank. TechCrunch implies that it was a matter of principle, but it’s hard to be clear on the wheres, whos and whys. Similarly, on April 17th, the Moscow Times quoted Durov as saying that he quit the company after being pressured to reveal account details about Ukrainians protesting the then-president Viktor Yanukovych. Soloviev also promoted the channel in a post he shared on his own Telegram, which has 580,000 followers. The post recommended his viewers subscribe to "War on Fakes" in a time of fake news. After fleeing Russia, the brothers founded Telegram as a way to communicate outside the Kremlin's orbit. They now run it from Dubai, and Pavel Durov says it has more than 500 million monthly active users.
