Вместе с командиром бригады, а также коллегой Андреем Хапочкиным посмотрели условия жизни и военной подготовки мобилизованных. Впечатление осталось весьма позитивное. Бытовые условия и экипировка военных вполне соответствуют требованиям, во многом благодаря усилиям руководства Сахалинской области. Об этом говорили сами военные.
