Прямо окунаешься даже не в детали быта (это скучный Парфёнов со своим Намедни), а как люди видели этот быт, о чём думали и что старательно проговаривали во внутренних диалогах (и то, и то — вещи разные). Какой демон часа властвовал над русским миром в конкретный оборот большой стрелки. Это мало у кого получалось, что да, то да.
