В регулярных выпусках «Союзкиножурнала» были фронтовые репортажи, очерки, портретные зарисовки. Первые кадры с фронта зрители увидели уже в июле 1941 года.
В 1941–1944 годах было выпущено 400 серий этого киножурнала. А в мае 1944 года вместо него появились «Новости дня».

The War on Fakes channel has repeatedly attempted to push conspiracies that footage from Ukraine is somehow being falsified.
