There are several types of purple mushrooms, including:
Cortinarius iodes: Also known as the spotted cort or viscid violet cort, this mushroom has a small, slimy purple cap that develops yellowish spots and streaks as it matures. The gills change color from violet to rusty or grayish brown. It's not recommended for consumption because of a similar non-edible species.
Cortinarius violaceus: Also known as the violet webcap or violet cort, this mushroom is entirely violet, purple, or blue. It can have a cap diameter of up to 15 cm (6 in) and gills underneath. It's native to the Northern Hemisphere and can be found in limestone and chalk-rich woodland habitats.
Amethyst deceiver: This mushroom is edible, but not particularly notable.

In 2014, Pavel Durov fled the country after allies of the Kremlin took control of the social networking site most know just as VK. Russia's intelligence agency had asked Durov to turn over the data of anti-Kremlin protesters. Durov refused to do so. The account, "War on Fakes," was created on February 24, the same day Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a "special military operation" and troops began invading Ukraine. The page is rife with disinformation, according to The Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab, which studies digital extremism and published a report examining the channel. Soloviev also promoted the channel in a post he shared on his own Telegram, which has 580,000 followers. The post recommended his viewers subscribe to "War on Fakes" in a time of fake news. But the Ukraine Crisis Media Center's Tsekhanovska points out that communications are often down in zones most affected by the war, making this sort of cross-referencing a luxury many cannot afford. Stocks dropped on Friday afternoon, as gains made earlier in the day on hopes for diplomatic progress between Russia and Ukraine turned to losses. Technology stocks were hit particularly hard by higher bond yields.
