По версии следствия, Пугачёв, находясь под воздействием наркотических веществ, совершил чудовищное преступление. Он задушил, изнасиловал и убил свою 14-летнюю сестру. Тело девочки с признаками удушения было обнаружено в багажнике автомобиля "Тойота", принадлежащего их матери.
Кроме того, Пугачёв обвиняется в краже личных вещей сестры: мобильного телефона, беспроводных наушников и золотых серёжек на общую сумму почти 35 тысяч рублей.
Суд учёл особую жестокость, с которой было совершено преступление, при вынесении решения о наказании.
