The Ukrainian Air Force reports on a Shahed drone attack overnight. Out of 38 Shahed drones launched, 28 were shot down and another 10 were supressed by electronic warfare.

Ukraine will not enforce the return of citizens from abroad, says Minister of Unity Oleksii Chernyshov.

"The return process is entirely voluntary. We’ll celebrate the success of Ukrainians abroad if they find their place there," Chernyshov stated.

20–25M Ukrainians live abroad, while 32M remain in Ukraine.

North Korean 170-mm "Koksan" self-propelled artillery systems are now actively used by Russian forces in/against Ukraine. Previously, several trainloads carrying these artillery systems were spotted in Russia.

Russian sources claim that at night, Ukraine sent two groups from the settlement of Cherkasskoye Porechnoye in the Kursk region towards Russian positions, but according to their claims were supressed. At night, the use of Vampire (Baba-Yaga) drones were observed, probing Russian defensive positions.

Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Syrsky: In December, Ukrainian Defense Forces drone operators hit over 54,000 enemy targets, with 49% of the strikes carried out by kamikaze drones.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are testing the Black Widow 2 river kamikaze drones. These drones are 1 meter long, weigh 8 kilograms, and can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h with an operational range of 10 kilometers. They carry a payload of 3 kilograms, sufficient to destroy small boats and watercraft. Powered by an onboard battery, the drones can operate for several hours or remain in standby mode for several days while awaiting a target.

For the first time in history, a Ukrainian F-16 shot down 6 Russian cruise missiles in a single sortie, – Yuriy Ignat. According to the former Air Force spokesperson, this record was set by a Ukrainian pilot during the massive attack on December 13, 2024.

Poland's Minister of Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kloska said her country is ready to provide Ukraine with electricity. This could happen if Slovakia follows through on its threats.

A lone Russian tank crew charged Ukrainian positions in the Lyman direction, got hit by a drone, panicked, turned tail, and tried to flee. But the 63rd Brigade’s artillery and drone pilots didn’t let them go.

Lukashenko: "Having a dictatorship like Belarus' is better than Ukraine's democracy." Speaking on Orthodox Christmas, he accused Zelensky of trying to drag Belarus into war and praised his regime for keeping "peace on this small island."

Moldova’s Prime Minister Dorin Recean calls for Russia to withdraw its troops and for Transnistria to peacefully return under Moldova's control. The goal is the reintegration of the country, starting with the withdrawal of Russian forces to allow proper regional administration.

A significant military facility in Russian Kursk was attacked overnight, according to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Central Defense Department operating against disinformation.

On January 7, 2025, the Ukrainian Armed Forces conducted a precision strike on the command center of the 810th Separate Marine Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces near the village of Belya (Kursk region), reports the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Rheinmetall delivers the first Lynx IFV to Ukraine for field tests before full-scale production begins. The 45-ton vehicle, armed with a 30mm cannon and Spike LR2 missiles, carries 9 troops and is powered by a 1,463hp engine. Production in 🇺🇦 is planned.
