В 1830-х годах на острове Висингсё высадили 300 000 дубов, чтобы обеспечить шведский Военно-морской флот качественной древесиной для строительства кораблей 🌳⛵ Когда в 1975 году начальнику флота позвонили и доложили, что первые дубы можно забирать — ему пришлось отказаться, ведь эпоха деревянного кораблестроения уже была в прошлом 😆 Так большая часть леса осталась практически нетронутой.

Ценную древесину с Висингсё всё же используют — например, для строительства копий старинных кораблей вроде точной реплики парусника "Гётеборг" 1738 года. А предметы мебели из этих дубов можно встретить, например, на набережной острова Риддархольмен или в Национальном музее в Стокгольме 🪑

Continuing its crackdown against entities allegedly involved in a front-running scam using messaging app Telegram, Sebi on Thursday carried out search and seizure operations at the premises of eight entities in multiple locations across the country. Channels like Donbass Insider and Bellum Acta, as reported by Foreign Policy, started pumping out pro-Russian propaganda as the invasion began. So much so that the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council issued a statement labeling which accounts are Russian-backed. Ukrainian officials, in potential violation of the Geneva Convention, have shared imagery of dead and captured Russian soldiers on the platform.
