🇹🇯 دولت تاجیکستان اعلام کرد:
روند تغییر نام‌های روسی، ترکی، ازبکی و قرقیزی شهرها و مناطق مختلف این کشور که در دوران اتحاد جماهیر شوروی در نظر گرفته شده بود به زبان فارسی ادامه می‌یابد.

اسامی بیش از ۱۷۴ منطقه مسکونی که ریشۀ تاجیکی یا فارسی ندارد تغییر کرده و اسامی بیش از ۳۰۰ منطقه دیگر نیز تغییر خواهد کرد.

۴,۸۳۳ نام شامل ۴,۰۳۱ منطقه جغرافیایی و ۸۰۲ محل مسکونی تغییر می‌کند.
کارگروه مناسبی برای تغییر اسامی ۷,۶۸۲ منطقه جغرافیایی و ۴,۹۱۱ منطقه مسکونی در نظر گرفته شده است.
در دوران اتحاد جماهیر شوروی، شهرهای بسیاری در تاجیکستان به سبک روسی تغییر نام دادند اما دولت این کشور از سال ۲۰۱۵ روند تغییر نام‌های مناطقی را که به زبان روسی، ترکی، ازبکی و قرقیزی بود به زبان تاجیکی یا فارسی آغاز کرد و به عنوان مثال شهر «چکالوفسک» در شمال تاجیکستان به «باغ شکوفه» تغییر نام داد.
