There is this speech in Steel Ball Run by the President of the United States.
It goes something like: when you sit at a round table, the seats are only apparently democratic. If you are the first to seize a napkin, be it on your left or on your right, you will be the one that decides what napkin all the other get.
I think often about this speech.
I surely thought about it this morning, when there were no places where to park my car, and I was in a hurry, and decided to park it anyway in a place where there *was* room to park and there *was* still room to go around my car in a safe way but decidedly there was *not* a diirect designation.
As i left my car, and took a last glance at it, and saw another person park directly behind me, I indeed thought "yes, seize the napkin"

In February 2014, the Ukrainian people ousted pro-Russian president Viktor Yanukovych, prompting Russia to invade and annex the Crimean peninsula. By the start of April, Pavel Durov had given his notice, with TechCrunch saying at the time that the CEO had resisted pressure to suppress pages criticizing the Russian government. So, uh, whenever I hear about Telegram, it’s always in relation to something bad. What gives? Stocks closed in the red Friday as investors weighed upbeat remarks from Russian President Vladimir Putin about diplomatic discussions with Ukraine against a weaker-than-expected print on U.S. consumer sentiment. DFR Lab sent the image through Microsoft Azure's Face Verification program and found that it was "highly unlikely" that the person in the second photo was the same as the first woman. The fact-checker Logically AI also found the claim to be false. The woman, Olena Kurilo, was also captured in a video after the airstrike and shown to have the injuries. But because group chats and the channel features are not end-to-end encrypted, Galperin said user privacy is potentially under threat.
