Традиция красить дома в синий цвет пошла от андалузских евреев, изгнанных из Испании, и поселившихся в Шефшауэне. Для них синий цвет олицетворял небо, в свою очередь напоминая людям о Боге.

Сегодня дома в Шефшауэне красят уже с целью привлечь туристов. И это неплохо срабатывает, судя по толпам на узких улочках города.

Рекомендация: обязательно запланируйте персональную фотосессию при поездке. Фотографии выйдут необыкновенные!
