Более 90% из установленных сегодня в общественных местах монументов появились после распада СССР. В 90-е годы в стране было установлено только пять памятников Сталину, а начиная с 2000-го памятники открывались ежегодно.
Монументы установлены в 40 регионах, в том числе в 15 региональных столицах. В тройке лидеров по числу населенных пунктов со скульптурами Сталина — Северная Осетия, Дагестан и Якутия.
