Презентация машины гендиректору перевозчика Олегу Белозерову прошла в рамках заседания Совета по взаимодействию РЖД с предприятиями транспортного машиностроения. Фотография тепловоза появилась также на днях в одном из сообществ в Vkontakte.

Пока детали о машине не раскрываются. Ранее начальник технической службы ЦТ РЖД Дмитрий Хомченко указывал, что новая машина заменит серию тепловозов 3ТЭ25К2М, в которых применен дизельный двигатель американского производства. Также в начале августа гендиректор ТМХ Кирилл Липа анонсировал старт серийного выпуска магистральных тепловозов с российским дизелем в 2023 году.
