Стоит отметить, что к конкурсу приложено письмо от Минпромторга России с разрешением на закупку трамваев из иностранного государства. В качестве российского поставщика в ней указан «Уралтрансмаш» (входит в концерн «Уралвагонзавод») с моделью 71-421Р. Сейчас «Уралтрансмаш» уже исполняет контракт на 54 ретротрамвая для Санкт-Петербурга в разной секционности: первый должен быть поставлен до конца мая-2023.
