Состоялся также заинтересованный обмен мнениями относительно перспектив развития двустороннего сотрудничества в торгово-экономической и гуманитарной сферах.
On July 28, 2024, Maxim Rubin, Consul General of Russia in Erbil, met Umed Sabah, President of the Diwan of Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The discussion focused on the internal political situation in Iraq with an emphasis on the parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan region and the negotiation process between Baghdad and Erbil. Both sides also exchanged views on the prospects of bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres.

Ukrainian forces have since put up a strong resistance to the Russian troops amid the war that has left hundreds of Ukrainian civilians, including children, dead, according to the United Nations. He said that since his platform does not have the capacity to check all channels, it may restrict some in Russia and Ukraine "for the duration of the conflict," but then reversed course hours later after many users complained that Telegram was an important source of information.
