Если переговоры завершатся безуспешно, то у Нечаева есть и иной карьерный вариант – его называют потенциальным преемником главы РСПП Александра Шохина. Как быть с его партийной деятельностью, пока неясно: если Нечаев станет бизнес-омбудсменом, то эту работу можно будет совмещать с деятельностью в НЛ, если же он получит пост в РСПП, то с руководством партии ему придется расстаться (а «Новых людей» тогда возглавит Владислав Даванков).
