Парень сделал 225 000 снимков Луны чтобы создать этот 500-гигабайтный шедевр в разрешении 300 мегапикселей. Использовал два телескопа: 11" SCT для деталей и 12" ньютониан для цвета с RGB-фильтрами. Красные области показывают повышенное содержание железа, синие — титана.

Звёзды на заднем плане он снимал отдельно, собрав 15-панельную мозаику неба, потому что звёзды гораздо тусклее лунной поверхности.

Результат настолько детализированный, что можно печатать в огромных размерах. Автор продаёт лимитированные арт-принты пару дней - но речь не о рекламе, а о том, какой невероятной красоты можно добиться современными методами астрофотографии.
