Activist Ivan Kudryashov reported about torture and falsification of the case. Solidarity Zone is here to help!

Earlier, we wrote about Ivan Kudryashov, an activist from Tver, who ended up in a pre-trial detention center on charges of planning to set fire to a military registration and enlistment office. For the first time, another political prisoner spoke about him in his letter.

On December 22, at our request, Ivan was visited by a lawyer, and we learned shocking details of the persecution of an anti-war activist.

Ivan Kudryashov said that after his arrest, before the first interrogation and repeatedly between subsequent interrogations, he was tortured with electric shocks in order to get the password to his phone and force him to sign a confession. According to Ivan, operatives tortured him, but investigator Erofeev S.V. was aware of what was happening.

Kudryashov also gave details of the falsification of the case against him. During the detention in the apartment, officers of the FSB department for the Tver region planted Molotov cocktails on the activist. In the search protocol drawn up, Ivan wrote that he had nothing to do with the found incendiary mixtures — in the protocol it was written in his handwriting "This is not mine."

At the same time, during interrogations, Ivan openly expressed his anti-war position. From the interrogation protocol:
“I participate in anti-war protests because I do not agree that the Ukrainian issue can only be resolved by military means, I am categorically against the war that the Russian Federation unleashed, I believe that this mobilization should be sabotaged.”

Ivan also confirmed his authorship of the sensational street art "Fuck War", which appeared at bus stops in the center of Tver on May 1. In the absence of a photo of the activist, we accompany the post with a photo of this action.

Telegram | DID YOU KNOW?

One thing that Telegram now offers to all users is the ability to “disappear” messages or set remote deletion deadlines. That enables users to have much more control over how long people can access what you’re sending them. Given that Russian law enforcement officials are reportedly (via Insider) stopping people in the street and demanding to read their text messages, this could be vital to protect individuals from reprisals. Also in the latest update is the ability for users to create a unique @username from the Settings page, providing others with an easy way to contact them via Search or their t.me/username link without sharing their phone number. At this point, however, Durov had already been working on Telegram with his brother, and further planned a mobile-first social network with an explicit focus on anti-censorship. Later in April, he told TechCrunch that he had left Russia and had “no plans to go back,” saying that the nation was currently “incompatible with internet business at the moment.” He added later that he was looking for a country that matched his libertarian ideals to base his next startup. The news also helped traders look past another report showing decades-high inflation and shake off some of the volatility from recent sessions. The Bureau of Labor Statistics' February Consumer Price Index (CPI) this week showed another surge in prices even before Russia escalated its attacks in Ukraine. The headline CPI — soaring 7.9% over last year — underscored the sticky inflationary pressures reverberating across the U.S. economy, with everything from groceries to rents and airline fares getting more expensive for everyday consumers. Now safely in France with his spouse and three of his children, Kliuchnikov scrolls through Telegram to learn about the devastation happening in his home country.
