Молодого человека признали виновным по ряду статей, в том числе о «госизмене» и «покушении на организацию террористического акта». Суд назначил Илье 25 лет лишения свободы, из которых первые 5 он должен провести в тюрьме, а оставшиеся 20 — в колонии строгого режима.
Илья не признает вину по предъявленным обвинениям. Защитник Бабурина адвокат Василий Дубков требовал оправдать своего подзащитного.
