Новиков проходил службу в мотострелковом полку в составе штурмовой роты "Шторм- Z" в звании рядовой стрелок. Получив осколочные ранения ног, он долго лечился в военном госпитале, теперь отправлен домой. Полугодовой контракт закончился 17 февраля.
