Working Visit to Egypt | Day Two 🇪🇬

From global challenges to practical cooperation — the second day of the visit was filled with discussions on the transformation of the world order and the development of Russian-Egyptian scientific partnership.

🔵 Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs

The day began with an expert dialogue at a closed roundtable titled “Russian-Egyptian Relations in the Context of a Changing World Order.”

Participants discussed the opportunities the evolving global landscape offers to Moscow and Cairo, as well as the role of the Global South and BRICS in strengthening bilateral cooperation. Special attention was given to the potential contributions of think tanks and academic institutions in this process.

🔵 Academy of Scientific Research and Technology of Egypt

In the afternoon, Russian and Egyptian experts exchanged views on the future of scientific collaboration. Representatives from Sechenov University, MEPhI, HSE University, MGIMO, and the Institute of Oriental Studies (RAS) engaged in dialogue with their Egyptian counterparts on joint projects in medicine, energy, computer science, and water research.

Tomorrow’s agenda includes a meeting with Egyptian NGOs and a discussion on public diplomacy mechanisms.

20 мая на площадке Русского дома в Каире прошла церемония награждения победителей Конкурса экологических и общественно полезных проектов Египта.

С приветственными словами к участникам обратились:

🔵 Руслан Мамедов, научный руководитель Центра Примакова
🔵 Екатерина Кононенко, руководитель направления социального обеспечения филиала АО «Атомстройэкспорт» в Египте
🔵 Екатерина Жуковская, руководитель международного направления АНО «Энергия Развития» Госкорпорации «Росатом»

В ходе экспертной сессии представители российских организаций рассказали о механизмах поддержки гражданских инициатив и опыте реализации международных проектов. В свою очередь египетские НКО представили собственные практики и поделились идеями для будущих коллабораций.

Working Visit to Egypt | Day Three 🇪🇬

On May 20, the Russian House in Cairo hosted the award ceremony for the winners of the Egyptian Competition for Environmental and Socially Beneficial Projects.

Opening remarks were delivered by:

🔵 Ruslan Mamedov, Scientific Director of the Primakov Center
🔵 Ekaterina Kononenko, Head of Social Support at the Egypt Branch of Atomstroyexport JSC
🔵 Ekaterina Zhukovskaya, Head of International Programs at non-profit organization “Energy of Development” of the State Corporation Rosatom

During the expert session, representatives of Russian organizations shared mechanisms for supporting civic initiatives and their experience in implementing international projects. In turn, Egyptian NGOs presented their own practices and proposed ideas for future collaboration.

Very soon, the ideas voiced at the meeting will take shape as real projects — and we’ll be sure to share the details with you!

Завершился визит российских экспертов в Каир 🇪🇬

С 18 по 21 мая состоялся визит российской экспертной делегации в Египет, организованный Центром Примакова. В составе делегации — представители ИВ РАН, МГИМО, НИЯУ МИФИ, НИУ ВШЭ, Сеченовского университета и российских НКО.

Ключевые моменты:

🔵 Визит длился 3️⃣дня
🔵 Делегация посетила 3️⃣академических и исследовательских центра: Египетский совет по международным делам, Академию научных исследований и технологий и Александрийскую библиотеку, а также провела дискуссию вместе с Центром «Аль-Хивар»
🔵 На площадке Русского дома в Каире состоялось награждение победителей Конкурса экологических и общественно полезных проектов Египта
🔵 Среди обсуждаемых тем — развитие научного, культурного и гуманитарного сотрудничества, партнерство в рамках БРИКС и обмен общественными инициативами

Russian Experts Conclude Their Visit to Cairo 🇪🇬

From 18 to 21 May, a Russian expert delegation visited Egypt, organized by the Primakov Center. The delegation consisted of representatives of the Institute of Oriental Studies, MGIMO, National Research University MEPhI, HSE, Sechenov University and Russian NGOs.

Key points:

🔵 The visit lasted 3️⃣дня
🔵 The delegation visited 3️⃣ academic and research centers: the Egyptian Council for International Affairs, the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and held a discussion together with Al-Hiwar Center
🔵 The Russian House in Cairo hosted the awarding ceremony of the winners of the Egyptian Environmental and Public Benefit Projects Competition.
🔵 Among the topics discussed were the development of scientific, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, partnership within the BRICS framework and exchange of public initiatives.
