Госдума приняла законопроект о переименовании города Ростова Ярославской области в Ростов Великий.
В пояснительной записке отмечается, что Ростов Великий – это традиционное историческое наименование города, которое было также «распространено в общественном обиходе».
Первое летописное упоминание о Ростове датируется 862 годом.
