По словам источника «Вот Так», знакомого с ходом переговоров, про шамана забыли во время составления обменного списка, а когда вспомнили, было уже поздно. Несмотря на то, что согласие Александра Габышева все-таки было получено, вывезти его из России не удалось.
При этом выйти из заключения у Габышева шансов меньше, чем у других политзаключенных. Он находится на принудительном психиатрическом лечении бессрочно.
