Милейшая букинистическая находка: советское детское пособие по созданию полевых записей голосов животных. В этой книге ученые-зоологи рассказывают о том, какие звуки производят различные птицы, млекопитающие, земноводные и рыбы (недавно сделавшие мне едва ли не самый популярный пост за всю историю канала), что означают подаваемые ими сигналы, а в практической части приводятся рекомендации о том, как записывать все это на магнитофон.

Материал сопровождается большим количеством фотографий и иллюстраций, да и вообще издание выглядит красиво. Полагаю, с поправкой на технический прогресс почерпнуть из книги полезную информацию можно и сегодня - благо, она не является библиографической редкостью и без проблем ищется на известных маркетплейсах с ценой в районе 200-300 рублей.

These entities are reportedly operating nine Telegram channels with more than five million subscribers to whom they were making recommendations on selected listed scrips. Such recommendations induced the investors to deal in the said scrips, thereby creating artificial volume and price rise. The next bit isn’t clear, but Durov reportedly claimed that his resignation, dated March 21st, was an April Fools’ prank. TechCrunch implies that it was a matter of principle, but it’s hard to be clear on the wheres, whos and whys. Similarly, on April 17th, the Moscow Times quoted Durov as saying that he quit the company after being pressured to reveal account details about Ukrainians protesting the then-president Viktor Yanukovych. Telegram has gained a reputation as the “secure” communications app in the post-Soviet states, but whenever you make choices about your digital security, it’s important to start by asking yourself, “What exactly am I securing? And who am I securing it from?” These questions should inform your decisions about whether you are using the right tool or platform for your digital security needs. Telegram is certainly not the most secure messaging app on the market right now. Its security model requires users to place a great deal of trust in Telegram’s ability to protect user data. For some users, this may be good enough for now. For others, it may be wiser to move to a different platform for certain kinds of high-risk communications. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message on Tuesday that Ukrainian forces "destroy the invaders wherever we can." On February 27th, Durov posted that Channels were becoming a source of unverified information and that the company lacks the ability to check on their veracity. He urged users to be mistrustful of the things shared on Channels, and initially threatened to block the feature in the countries involved for the length of the war, saying that he didn’t want Telegram to be used to aggravate conflict or incite ethnic hatred. He did, however, walk back this plan when it became clear that they had also become a vital communications tool for Ukrainian officials and citizens to help coordinate their resistance and evacuations.
