بعضی مواد ضدعفونی‌کننده خارجی رویشان نوشته شده کوروناویروس را از بین می‌برند. منظورشان لزوماً کوروناویروسِ جدید نیست و باید از نظر دارا بودن مادۀ مؤثر و غلظت آن با منبع معتبر مانند مقالۀ زیر چک شوند:
