Турнир впервые в истории проходит в Казахстане. В нем принимают участие 210 спортсменов из 26 стран. Среди них – олимпийские чемпионы из Китая Ван Чуцинь и Сунь Инша, серебряные призеры из Японии Мива Харимото и Миу Хирано.
Мужская сборная Казахстана начала командные соревнования с победы над Северной Кореей – 3:2. В решающей партии Алан Курмангалиев, проигрывая со счетом 8:10, проявил волю и вырвал победу со счетом 12:10. Следующий наш соперник – сборная Пакистана.
Чемпионат Азии продлится до 13 октября, соревнования проходят ежедневно с 10:00 до 21:00 в Национальном теннисном центре Beeline Arena.
